เมื่อพราหมณ์เห็นพญานกแล้ว ก็อุ้มมานั่งบนตักด้วยความรัก แล้วกล่าวว่า นก แขกเต้าเอ๋ย ท้องเจ้าคงจะใหญ่กว่าท้องของนกตัวอื่นเป็นแน่ ถึงกินข้าวของเรา แล้วยังคาบเอากลับไปอีก เจ้ามีฉางสำหรับเก็บข้าวไว้หรือ หรือว่าเรามีเวรต่อกันมาก่อน
